On this Memorial Day, honouring my grandfather, Dr. Stylianos Atteshlis—our beloved Daskalos—it’s hard to believe thirty years have gone by, yet it feels like just yesterday.

From the moment I was born, I spent every day with you, learning from your wisdom, kindness, and love. I truly miss your teachings woven into everyday moments and the simple comfort of sitting on your lap—even until I was nearly eighteen—before you moved on to brighter realms.

I vividly remember you waking me up at 4 a.m., softly cuddling my back with a glass of warm milk in your hand—and your special way of saying, “drink this, not to eat from my body”, then you can continue your sleep.

Your continued presence, together with Yohannan, continues to guide my path through life, inspiring my heart and my work.

May we all honour your teachings with humility, love, and gratitude, keeping your light shining in everything we do.

Thank you for being my Teacher, my grandfather… my Family!
